What supervision can hold

A place to think, not to perform

Supervision helps organise clinical material, see blind spots and maintain professional responsibility without losing one’s own style.

01

A difficult case

When the work is stuck, confusing or emotionally intense.

02

Therapeutic relationship

Transference, countertransference, contact ruptures and boundaries.

03

Professional identity

Developing confidence, voice and a coherent way of practising.

04

Ethics and responsibility

Confidentiality, contracts, risk and difficult professional decisions.

05

Burnout and sustainability

Recognising overload and protecting the therapist’s ability to remain present.

06

Group processes

Supervision of therapeutic, educational and professional groups.

Supervision is where a therapist can stop knowing for a moment — and begin to see more clearly.

The process

How supervision works

A brief context

You describe your practice and the case or question you want to explore.

Clarifying the focus

Together you define what needs attention: the client, the process, the therapist or the setting.

Exploration

The case is considered through clinical material, feelings, hypotheses and ethical context.

Integration

You leave with a clearer picture, possible next steps and questions for further reflection.
